Tips These are just a few things that I have learned over the years, both from my own experience and from speaking with people over the last five or six years about what they like and dislike about web sites. *Graphics should be colorful but not loud. They should stand out from the graphics on other sites without being outlandish. *There should be enough contrast to make text easy to read. A solid-color background where the main body of text will be is ideal, and a light color is preferrable. *Text should be easy to see and read. *Photos should be clear and large enough to see detail. If a full-shot of the product shows little detail, close-up shots should be taken. *Item descriptions should be thorough, and prices should be clearly stated. *Navigation needs to be simple, clearly visible and easy to follow. If frames are included in the site, text navigation should be included at the bottom of each page for those whose browsers do not support frames or who come to that specific page instead of the index page, generally from a search engine. *Large amounts of text should be divided up into smaller paragraphs to make them easier to read.
